• Hoikushi license or Education Degree / Education qualifications are highly desirable [and comes with additional stipend]

Job Description

An International English immersion preschool catering to students between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old, TIK is the first Cambridge Early Years accredited  program in Japan. With lower student-teacher ratios and a combination of play based and academic content, we feel that the education of our students is a partnership between the school and the families of the children in our care. We strive to provide high quality education and are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff.

A classroom teacher's role is to plan, prepare and execute the lessons to achieve specific student learning outcomes over the period of one year with the same group of students. The student experience will be focused on in order to improve knowledge and efficiently engage students and improve their learning throughout the day. All lessons are conducted in English, however for our 3 to 6 year old students there is a 30 minute Japanese lesson each. We value and are willing to train committed staff who are able to work well in a small team and who want the best for the students in their care.

Salary & Benefits

• Competitive Salary and benefits [medical and pension coverage for full-time qualified employees].
• Base salary is ¥250,000 per month (minus tax) plus travel with stipends being added for recognized qualifications, experience in Early Years settings as lead teacher and additional roles being offered and taken on (i.e. Coordinator, Head Teacher, Japanese Safety Lead when available)

Shifts are Monday to Friday;

• 7:30 to 16:30 [early shift]
• 8:00 to 17:00 [middle shift A]
• 9:00 to 18:00 [middle shift B]
• 9:30 to 18:30 [late shift]
  (with a 1 hour break) and dependent on the needs of the school.

Please note the job is physically demanding as it requires continual work with young children.
