Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC) is a business entity within Walt Disney World that provides Construction Management and General Contracting expertise to support facility, show, ride enhancements, and refurbishments. The Estimator is responsible for producing various levels of construction project estimates in support of pre-construction and implementation. They will participate in project scope development, database comparison with actual costs, and review of contractor schedule of values. The Estimator will assist in the change management effort by developing estimates for pending items and change orders including analysis of detailed sub-contractor costs.

You will report to the Manager, Project Controls and Business Management, Buena Vista Construction Company.
Responsibilities/You Will:
Generate rough order of magnitude, conceptual, bid, and construct estimates for bidding of facility/attraction/show and ride modifications, renovations, and new construction.
Solicit and evaluate pricing from prospective sub-contractors and vendors.
Partner with construction management, field operations, and scheduling teams to continue to evolve estimating metrics.
Present estimating approach in group settings with construction management, field operations, and scheduling teams.
Participate in pre-construction reviews and provide budget estimates as needed.
Evaluate subcontractor proposals for changes in project work in accordance with contract requirements and fair market values.
Stay current with market conditions and changes. Perform statistical research, and analysis, and support the production of departmental reports.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have:
3+ years of experience in estimating or project controls.
Proven knowledge and experience in quantity surveying and cost estimating for general construction including some experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
Proficient in performing material takeoffs and labor resource production approaches.
Experience using construction estimating software.
Knowledge of Construction methods and materials and the ability to interpret design drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated computer skills and ability to structure, coordinate, and optimally utilize items within a database.
Confirmed verbal and written communication skills, effective in relationship building with teams, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Demonstrated compassion and commitment to diversity and inclusion, including inviting diverse perspectives, supporting an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Management, or equivalent work experience.
