Responsibilities:

• Established and oversaw the finance and accounting function for over 50 legal entities involved in investments across solar, wind, and biomass energy projects, as well as asset management companies.

Key responsibilities

• Responsibilities included supervising team members, managing financial planning processes, reviewing payments, monthly journal entries, and financial statements, preparing quarterly IFRS financial statements, facilitating funding and distributions, conducting annual financial audits, tax filing, reporting to headquarters in Singapore, coordinating debt financing arrangements with external lenders, and providing reporting to the lenders.
• Led the financial planning process by collaborating with each business unit, creating budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances on a monthly basis, and reporting to headquarters in Singapore.
• Created a finance team and transitioned bookkeeping processes from an external provider to an internal team by implementing in-house accounting software.
• Contributed to the establishment of accounting operations for a Real Estate Opportunity Fund, improving processes for bookkeeping and investor reporting across roughly 50 special purpose companies (SPCs) in Japan. Responsibilities included reviewing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, managing audits, assisting with local and U.S. tax filings, liaising with fund headquarters in Singapore for bookkeeping and quarterly investor reporting, and overseeing the distribution process.
• Streamlined audit processes for earlier completion by collaborating with external accounting providers, including converting financial statements from J-GAAP to IFRS.
• Consolidated financial statements for real estate SPCs in a timely manner, including converting statements from J-GAAP to U.S. GAAP.
