Position Overview

Manufacturing company is seeking an experienced tax professional to take ownership of corporate tax compliance, reporting, and research across multiple jurisdictions. This role will be responsible for managing all phases of the tax cycle, from preparation and review of returns to provision calculations, while partnering with internal teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of corporate income and franchise tax filings at the federal, state, and local levels, including estimated payments.
• Oversee creation and validation of supporting schedules such as depreciation, amortization, and apportionment.
• Research tax regulations and prepare documentation outlining findings and recommendations.
• Ensure the company remains compliant with applicable tax laws in all operating regions.
• Review quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including deferred tax and effective rate analysis.
• Maintain documentation and internal controls for all tax filings and related processes.
• Prepare or review journal entries tied to transfer pricing, reserves, and other tax-related adjustments.
• Manage calculations for uncertain tax positions (FIN 48) and maintain corresponding records.
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and other stakeholders to align on tax strategy and reporting requirements.
• Utilize tax and financial software tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

 

Qualifications

• BA in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of corporate tax or public accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of corporate income tax principles, compliance requirements, and tax research methods.
• Demonstrated experience with both federal and state/local tax matters.
• Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
