Job Title : Operations Lead, SAP Cloud Applications

Location : Calgary, AB — 100% mandatory onsite

About the Team & Impact

Join a transformation-focused team responsible for the operations, integration, and development of SAP Cloud solutions across a portfolio of 20+ applications . You will lead day‑to‑day operations, vendor delivery to SLAs, and project execution—ensuring our SAP cloud landscape is reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP Cloud operations and act as the point of escalation to resolve high‑priority production issues quickly.
• Plan and evolve the SAP cloud application landscape in partnership with solution design teams to meet business goals.
• Own vendor management : direct outsourced teams, monitor service queues, and ensure delivery meets contracted SLAs .
• Design and implement processes that enable effective multi‑vendor delivery and reduce operational risk.
• Develop and enforce technical standards; review/approve code violations, developer access, and production data access.
• Oversee integrations between S/4HANA and SAP Cloud solutions to maintain secure, reliable data flows.
• Guide development of RESTful ABAP , SAPUI5 , and Java apps on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) .
• Administer and configure BTP services such as CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) , Workflow , and Portal .
• Retain critical knowledge in‑house by defining documentation and transition-to-sustain processes.
• Contribute to project delivery : scope, plan, and ensure technical documentation meets sustainment guidelines.
• Partner with business and functional teams to drive continuous improvement and value realization.
• Provide leadership to an outsourced Cloud Admin/development team of 5–10 professionals.

Must‑Have Qualifications

(please explain your proficiency, provide technical details and/or examples)

10+ years SAP experience, including 3+ years integrating S/4HANA with SAP Cloud applications.

3+ years developing RESTful ABAP, SAPUI5, and/or Java on SAP BTP.

3+ years administering/configuring BTP services (e.g., CPI, Workflow, Portal).

Demonstrated vendor/outsourcing leadership, SLA governance, and service queue oversight.

Proven decision‑making, communication, and people leadership skills.

Strong SAP change management knowledge and adherence to development standards.

Ability to review/approve code quality and access requests in production environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or Business Management (or higher).

Nice‑to‑Have - Experience on either side of an outsource relationship (client or vendor).

Nice‑to‑Have - Business process knowledge of SAP‑enabled functions.

Nice‑to‑Have - Oil & Gas domain familiarity.

Nice‑to‑Have - Road‑mapping operations and presenting to senior management.

Nice‑to‑Have - Process design across multi‑vendor delivery environments.
