Job Description

Our client, a leading insurance company, is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join their Finance Department. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to handle day-to-day operations with accuracy and ownership. While the position may lead to a leadership role in the future, immediate management experience is not required - the focus is on hands-on execution and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
• Execute daily accounting operations such as journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closings
• Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) to streamline reporting and data analysis
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and propose improvements to enhance efficiency
• Support communication and documentation related to accounting processes

Required Qualifications:

• Practical experience in accounting operations
• Japan Bookkeeping Certification Level 2 or equivalent accounting knowledge
• Deep understanding of accounting standards and sound judgment based on them
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in administrative work
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• A proactive attitude with ownership over one's responsibilities
• Ability to read and write in English
