Work Schedule

  • Day shift with occasional overtime and weekend work
  • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and accuracy

Duties

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll with strict accuracy and timelines
  • Manage bonuses, off-cycle payments, and year-end activities (T4s, government remittances)
  • Support and maintain the Kronos timekeeping system
  • Administer garnishments and ROEs per legislative requirements
  • Assist associates at the payroll help desk and resolve inquiries
  • Prepare payroll documentation and support pension and benefits activities, letters of employment and third-party income requests, etc.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum 2 years of experience processing high-volume payroll
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Kronos
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across all levels
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, principles, and applicable legislation
  • High degree of accuracy and strong numerical aptitude
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Preferred Experience

  • PeopleSoft HRMS experience
  • National Payroll Institute (NPI) designation, or willingness to work towards.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Ability to facilitate or present to large groups
