About Vega Academy

Vega Academy is a bold new secondary school launching in February 2026, purpose-built for the age of intelligent tools and real-world learning. We are integrated with International Business University (IBU)—a first-of-its-kind model where a high school and a university work in concert to expand opportunities, raise academic ambition, and accelerate pathways to postsecondary study and meaningful work.

Position Title: High School Teacher

Schedule: Full and part-time opportunities available, Contract

Reports to : Principal

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Expected Start Date: Immediate

Subject Areas:

1. English: ESL (levels ESLCO–ESLEO), ENG3U, ENG4U
2. Mathematics: MCV4U (Calculus and Vectors), MHF4U (Advanced Functions), MDM4U (Data Management)
3. Business: BBB4M (International Business Fundamentals), BOH4M (Business Leadership)
4. Social Sciences: HZT4U (Philosophy), HSB4U (Challenge and Change in Society)

We welcome candidates with cross-disciplinary subject expertise and will consider related knowledge areas.

Role Summary:

• Co-design, build, and teach OSSD courses for a launch-phase secondary program.
• This role combines curriculum development with high-impact classroom instruction for domestic and international learners.

Qualifications & Application Process:

Qualifications

• Accredited bachelor’s degree required.
• Demonstrated curriculum development and classroom delivery experience in at least one of the four knowledge areas.
• High-level English communication skills (spoken and written); culturally responsive practice with international learners.
• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing with relevant qualifications is strongly preferred.
• Experience with PBL/CBL, project-based learning, guided constructivism, and sustained inquiry design.
• Proficiency with educational technology and an LMS; practical, ethical integration of AI in learning and assessment.
• Experience in private/independent or start-up school environments.
• Assessment leadership; data-informed instruction.
• First Aid/CPR; co-curricular leadership strongly preferred
• Must be legally able to work in Canada; resides in Toronto/GTA for in-person teaching.
• All teachers/educators of Vega Academy must be able to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
