Minimum Requirements

Residency & Visa

• Currently residing in Japan (overseas applicants not accepted at this time)
• Holds a valid work-permitting visa (e.g., work, spouse, long-term resident).
  Visa sponsorship not available for this role at this time but can be considered for a later stage.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Psychology, or related field
  (Strong majors in the relevant subject—e.g., Business, Theatre, Art, Music, STEM—are also welcomed.)

Experience

• 2+ years working with children (school, afterschool, camp, or similar)

Preferred Certifications (nice to have)

• TEFL / TESOL / IB / Montessori or similar
• Subject-area certifications (e.g., drama, art, music, robotics/coding, business)

Physical & Classroom

• Comfortable facilitating movement-based or hands-on activities
• Confident working with ages 3–18 (assignments match your strengths)

Work Days / Hours

• Part-Time only: Weekdays; 1-2 hour sessions scheduled within 9:30–16:30
  (Extra hours may be available during peak periods, events, or showcases.)

Job Description

Mirai Minds designs hands-on afterschool programs that spark creativity, critical thinking, and real-world skills. As a Part-Time Afterschool Teacher , you will deliver engaging, activity-based sessions at our partner international/bilingual schools. You’ll bring lessons to life through projects, performance, and play—tailored to the age group and subject(s) you teach.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lively, student-centered sessions in your selected subject area(s)
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom culture
• Adapt activities for different ages/abilities; manage time and materials
• Communicate brief updates to school staff/parents as required
• Coordinate with Mirai Minds for lesson prep, logistics, and quality
