Job Description

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX) Designer to join our client's team on a 13-month contract in Toronto, on a hybrid basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing intuitive, user-centered interfaces for both consumer-facing (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) applications. You will work on short- and long-term solutions, modifying existing designs and creating new ones while focusing on clean, simplified, and mobile-first experiences. You will also be responsible for articulating design decisions to a broad set of stakeholders and contributing to a consistent, scalable design system.

Responsibilities

• Discover user needs through interviews, user flows, and usability testing, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform design decisions.
• Plan and prioritize design features for products within each sprint.
• Create visually appealing designs for websites and digital products, including layout, color schemes, typography, and iconography. You will understand user needs and behaviors to design intuitive, user-centered interfaces.
• Develop high-quality wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and interactive prototypes to demonstrate and test design concepts.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to bring ideas to life.
• Clearly articulate design rationale and present complex projects to various stakeholders.
• Contribute to, refine, and maintain design systems to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Manage multiple design projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in UX and UI design with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• A Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• High proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools such as Sketch and Adobe XD.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (AOAD/WCAG) and guidelines is essential.
• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is desirable.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries is desirable.
