Our client in manufacturing industry is looking for Health and Safety Coordinator in the St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
What you need to have:
Post-secondary education with focus on Environmental Science and/or Health and Safety or related field of study
Joint Health and Safety Committee Management Certification – must be willing to obtain
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) – or working towards would be considered an asset
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able and willing to deliver training in a group setting
Ability to meet and manage competing deadlines and handle multiple priorities and demands.
Work with management team to develop and implement proactive strategies and initiatives to reduce accidents, incidents, injuries and near misses and to promote a strong safety culture
Develop, review, update and implement health and safety policies and procedures, including PPE, safe operation of cranes and mobile equipment, confined workspace, fire safety, asbestos, lead, and silica programs, as well as environmental compliance
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety and environmental legislation and liaison with outside consultants and regulatory bodies as required
Coordinate and conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations, as required
Schedule and administer all employee health and safety training
Deliver health and safety on-boarding program to new employees
